About ballonSTUDIO
ballonSTUDIO is a boutique interior design firm with nearly two decades of experience delivering high-end residential and commercial projects in the Bay Area. Our clients include private families, family offices, and owner's representatives managing significant real estate investments — which means the work is sophisticated, the standards are high, and the relationships are long. We work with a senior team of specialists and a carefully curated consultant network. We're in a growth phase, and we're building the team around us deliberately.
Position Overview
This is a Studio Assistant position. You'll be embedded in active projects from day one, working directly alongside our design team on everything from vendor coordination to presentation prep. We move fast, we care about craft, and we need someone who can hold both.
If you're early in your career and looking for the kind of hands-on exposure that most firms reserve for senior staff, this is that opportunity.
Responsibilities
Run pickups and deliveries to the Design Center, vendors, job sites, and FedEx
Build and maintain organized project sample trays and the materials library
Support the team with drafting, drawings, renderings, and presentation boards
Coordinate with vendors and showroom reps
Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and procurement tasks
Keep the studio running — office supplies, filing, general organization
Research and source building materials, furniture, and finishes
Take on off-site tasks and errands as projects demand
Qualifications
Current student or recent graduate in Interior Design or a related field
Proficiency in Google Suite; experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Archicad, and/or Adobe Creative Suite
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
Strong communicator — with the team, with vendors, and on your own initiative
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
Access to a car for off-site errands (preferred)
Able to commit to full-time, in-person availability
What You'll Gain
Real project exposure across residential, hospitality, and complex multi-stakeholder engagements
Direct access to senior designers and a professional consultant network built over 20 years
A front-row seat to how a high-end boutique firm operates across complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Genuine potential to grow with the studio as we expand
